| to sum up this past weekend in one word is difficult but if i had to choose, i'd go with AMAZING-CRAZY-FUN!!! see, since i put in the hyphens, it makes it one word. saturday started off kinda late but we did wake up in time for lunch. aki and i went to sasaya to have some udon. the flavors were good but the noodles were a bit too soft which kinda ruined it. after lunch we met up with my brother's family at the Aquarium of the Pacific. it started off as a rainy, gloomy day but once we got there, the sun was up and no rain in sight. while we were looking at the fish in the big tanks, my niece starts to mumble something. i later figured out it was 'under the sea', although she pronounces it 'unda da shweet'. i think she has a crush on aki cuz she spent most of the day holding hands with him. aaaaaaaaawwwwwww!!!! when we ask her who she wants to hold hands with, she goes straight to aki, but when asked who she wants to take her to the bathroom, its usually me. i think i'm getting the shorter end of the stick. for dinner we met up with ayako, eiji and baby momoka at otafuku. haven't been there in a while so it was nice to go back. the four of us... the ones that weren't pregnant or breast feeding... me and the 3 guys, went through 2 bottles of shochu. good times! on sunday i was up before the sun. headed out to disneyland to meet my brother & family again to have breakfast at goofy's kitchen. nanami (my niece) got to see Cinderella and take pictures with her but i think she hurt Cinderella's feelings when she then asked for princess Aurora. after breakfast we walked to the park. i was only there to have breakfast and to run errands for work, so i bid my family farewell as they went into the park and i began walking to my car. and this must be where the Disney magic sets in. long story extra short, my friend R was able to hook me up with a ticket to go into the park. i was so excited cuz i knew nanami was going to get the princess makeover at bibbidi bobbidi boutique and i really wanted to share that experience with her. i thought it was gonna be kinda cheesy but Disney did a great job with that service. as soon as you step foot into the salon, the stylist treat each girl as if she were a real princess. they get to choose the color of their hair extentions, make-up and nail polish. one of the stylist had to walk in front of nanami to grab something and as she was passing she says "excuse me your highness". it was all very cute. when her makeover was done and as we walked around the park, nanami was curtseying at random people and flipping her long pink extensions. it was so adorable. i can't wait to show off pictures! the day ended with dinner at bubba gump. since my favorite shrimp place, Killer Shrimp closed the only place i can get something similar (shrimpin' dippin' broth) is at bubba gump so i was very happy. i had leftovers but when i got home the husband was, from what i could see, licking salt (yes, just plain salt) off a plate i felt bad and let him eat my leftovers. btw, is this what husbands do when their wives aren't home to cook dinner? they suck on salt? WTF?!?! as aki was devouring the food, i was telling him about the days events and he was really bummed he couldn't be there because he had work that day. he's dying to see pics of the little diva princess too. actually i think they have a crush on each other. LOL. i'm always amazed that however many times i go to disney (and i go fairly often), it never disappoints. pictures to come soon! |
